Our day-long workshops aim to inspire and enable the next generation of journalists and filmmakers to cover stories from the wider world through interactive sessions that highlight the skills necessary to deliver outstanding reporting from developing countries.
The content of the workshops is relevant, current and aimed at those wanting to work in the UK media industry and abroad. Topics covered include the practicalities of international productions, how to ensure your safety and that of your contributors, interview techniques and how to engage audiences with stories from the wider world. The teaching is supported by lots of clips of current media coverage and examples of best practice.
The next round of workshops is delivered by Jenny Kleeman, a British documentary filmmaker and journalist who is best known for her work on Channel 4's foreign affairs series Unreported World.
Completion of a One World Media workshop makes you eligible for our Production Fund, which provides bursaries for aspiring media professionals and filmmakers to tell stories from developing countries.

Workshop attendees say:
"The workshop was brilliant, insightful and inspiring."
"I can't express here how much I've taken from the workshop ... where I was once sceptical about the media's ability to change anything, I am now looking at it as something I could, and more importantly should be doing."
“[The day] was packed full of useful information/tips and clips – lots of content and lively discussion…”
We also hold workshops at select UK universities throughout the year. If you are a lecturer interested in running our workshop at your university, please contact Phoebe Hall at firstname.lastname@example.org.
